RD maturity is the future value of an annuity: FV = P × [ ((1+r)^n − 1) / r ], where P is the monthly deposit, r is the monthly rate, and n is the number of months. This is the same formula used for the end-of-period SIP.
What is RD?
Recurring Deposit (RD) is a bank product where you deposit a fixed amount every month for a fixed tenure and receive the total amount with interest at maturity.
Is the rate fixed?
Yes. Banks typically offer a fixed rate for the RD tenure. Check with your bank for the exact rate and terms.
Can I break the RD early?
Most banks allow premature closure with a penalty or a lower interest rate. Check your bank's RD terms.
